Adoption

Some women may feel that parenting a child is not right for them, whether for financial, emotional, or physical reasons. Adoption is a very loving option for an unplanned pregnancy. If you choose to place your child for adoption, you are not alone. Our pregnancy support counselors are committed to meeting with you on a regular basis to walk you through the adoption process and assist in planning an adoption of your choice. You have the right to choose how involved or uninvolved you want to be in the planning of your adoption. We can help you decide what type of adoption you desire by providing education on your adoption options, including the kind of future relationship you want with your child and the adoptive family. You will have the opportunity to view adoptive parent profiles as well as select and meet with an adoptive family of your choice. You can view several parent profiles here.

Your pregnancy counselor will also help prepare you for a range of emotional issues and is available for support. Housing with a licensed, caring family may be provided during the pregnancy, depending on availability. We can also assist in locating other agency services such as counseling and support groups. Your pregnancy support counselor can meet with you throughout your pregnancy and up to six months after the birth of your baby to provide post-adoption counseling.
