On Saturday, September 16th, more than 100 friends of ECFA came out to enjoy the morning at Herrick Lake in Wheaton. In attendance were several amazing volunteers, many long time supporters, and even a handful of new faces coming out to learn more about ECFA for the first time!
Julie, our Pregnancy Support Services worker, started the event by sharing an impactful story about one of her clients then Pastor Michael from Village Church of Bartlett led us in prayer before we all walked around Herrick Lake Together!
Seeing all of the blue shirts circling the lake and hearing the laughter, stories, and connections being made was inspiring. There was even one couple walking the trails that stopped and asked where they could get a blue shirt to join the event!
While walking around the lake attendees and anyone else were able to walk past several signs that highlight the impact that is made with your support: Strengthening Individuals and Families, Affirming Life, Building Families, Healing Relationships, Restoring Families.
To play, press and hold the enter key. To stop, release the enter key.
After the walk everyone gathered back at the shelter to enjoy delicious fresh baked donuts from Tom's in Warrenville along with other breakfast snacks. There was a craft table for children to create cards to encourage ECFA clients and to create kites to take home. We also had several yard games, a face painter, and balloon artists to keep children of all ages entertained!
For this event, we had a goal of raising $7,000 in donations. At the time of writing this, we have raised $5,625 in donations and pledges. We would love to hit our goal of $7,000 and are asking for your help to raise the last $1,375!
